Big Swarm in a TreeSwarm Removal

Are there bees on your property?  Would you like to join the growing community of concerned individuals who would rather re-locate wild honey bee colonies instead of having them exterminated?  We may be able to help!  This Swarm landed on a handicapped parking sign!

First, make sure that what you are seeing are really honey bees.  In late summer and early fall, yellow jackets can be a real nuisance.  This is what a yellow jacket looks like. Yellow Jacket
Note the hairless body and hard, almost militant looking posture.  They are very aggressive and will sting repeatedly and bite as well.  If you have these insects, we recommend that you contact an exterminator or try one of the highly effective over-the-counter wasp sprays.

If what you have are indeed honey bees like this Honey Bee
Swarm in a Spruce Tree a beekeeper may be interested in removing them for you free of charge.  HOWEVER, if they have established themselves in your home or another structure, there may be some cost to facilitating their removal.

Whatever you have or whatever you need, we recommend that you go to the website for the Central Ohio Beekeepers Association.  There is a swarm call list there and many beekeepers of various levels of experience.  Good luck and thank you for your concern for our bees!
